Stay tuned…

For anyone who still reads this, I will be moving blogs shortly, and it will be quite different! As soon as I figure out all that self-hosting nonsense, it’ll be up. 🙂

It’s the annual Thanksgiving Day post! (Well, I’ve only had this blog for just over a year, but it’s gonna be an annual thing, I’ve decided. 😛 ) This year, I am thankful for:

  1. My apartment. I love it, it feels so much more like home than my previous one! I have tons of space, don’t have to pay any utilities, and rent is way cheaper than it was for me at my last apartment. I just love it. That’s all.
  2. My job. It’s tough going sometimes (ok, a lot of times) but every time I overcome another obstacle, I can actually see that I’m improving, and I get recognition every time I do something well, and on top of that I have a lot of fun with my coworkers (in fact, I’m heading over to my boss’s apartment for thanksgiving dinner later this afternoon!)
  3. Obviously my friends and family. That’s just a given. But in particular I’m thankful to my parents for sending my sister over and having her here (miss you poopy pants!).
  4. Getting to go home for Christmas. I am SO excited! Ahh. Can’t believe it’s been over a year since I’ve seen my parents and grandparents, and since I’ve been in Hong Kong. Can’t wait to eat delicious food and to go home.

What are you thankful for this year?

In a haiku sort of mood.

was going to look like this.

Happy Holidays

I’m loving the Christmas season in the city. Last weekend it even snowed as I left the department store Saturday night, like really snowing. It didn’t stick at all but it was still gorgeous – my first snow in the city!

The photo at right is the Rockefeller Christmas tree, all lit up in its splendor. I don’t much like the snowflake thing facing it on Saks Fifth (what’s with that chintzy music? Really?), but the tree is still beautiful. This photo is the one on the background of my phone right now, and I love it. 😀

The only annoying thing about the holiday season is that I am working like every day aside from Christmas day, including New Year’s! The other annoying thing is that I’ll be minus my family, but as corny as it is, they’re with me all the time as it is anyway.

Last night I made a plan to go to midnight mass at St. Patrick’s this year, so I’m excited about that. Especially since I thought I’d be going alone. So yay! The holidays are right around the corner, and not too long after I’ll get to quit my really stressful department store job and finally feel like I’m NOT killing myself every week. Woo!

Anyway, Thursday is errand day and I have a long To Do list to get through so TTFN. lol

Best weekend ever! (Well, close.)

How was everyone’s Halloween weekends??

I had a great time – partly because me and Lo’s costumes turned out really cute, although I feel like I had more fun Saturday night out – but I’m gonna keep the reason for that to myself for now. 😉

This is what I ended up as for Halloween:

Siamese cats! (Im on the right.)

Siamese cats! (I'm on the right.)

Pretty cute, right? haha What did y’alls go out as? I love dressing up!! Wish there was more of an excuse to dress up more often…and you can’t tell in the photo, but I’m wearing insanely long false eyelashes. haha We went to a party downtown in Financial, called “Nightmare on Wall Street”, and then went to meet up with my cousin (who was a lumberjack – SO CUTE) and then my other cousin (who wasn’t anything at all – LAME. Seriously.). I met a Joker, two Edward Scissorhands, The Phantom of the Opera, and some guy that was kinda dressed like Zorro but wasn’t wearing a mask (?).

Training for my new job starts today – hope it goes well!! Have a great week everyone! 🙂
