Omg – it’s really happening!

So, it’s Saturday and I’m sitting at home waiting for Candy Butt to come around for us to watch movies (she says she wants to watch Boys and Girls, Clueless, AND one other of my DVDs that I can’t remember…lol) so I went online to the Asia Miles website to see what the availability was like for one-way tickets to New York in the first week of September. There was only one date left in Economy (sadly I have about 20K points too few to redeem a Business Class ticket!) in the first week of Sept, and that was for Friday the 5th, my now OFFICIAL MOVING DATE!

Omg, I can’t believe it! Right away I consulted my parents – for the most part I really think they didn’t think I’d move – especially my Dad: “There’s no way that you won’t come home for a whole year, and what if your current job gives you a raise? What about TDC (this other job he made me apply for that I didn’t want)?” I just said, “Dad, first of all if I come home I’d be buying a return from New York, not from Hong Kong. Second, there is no way I am staying just for a job I don’t even want, and unless my current one pays me a million dollars I wouldn’t stay with it anyway. I want to move and try to get a job doing something I REALLY want.” My mom then says, “Now is the time to do it and to try!” So then they gave me their blessing and told me to go book the ticket, which I just did. 😀

And as I was doing it my heart was beating faster and my fingers were shaking slightly as I was typing, because I can’t believe this is really happening…

SEPTEMBER 5th! SEPTEMBER 5th! SEPTEMBER 5th!

…and the countdown begins!! New York, here I come! Woo!! 😀
